Happy return...
I hope that everyone had a restful break and is ready to get busy and back to work. We only have 12 weeks left of school if we take away days off for Easter and PAT exams...not much so let's get down to business.

MATH: we will be finishing the unit this week on geometry and the test is scheduled for next Tuesday the 9th. we did a quick review this morning and some students still have their brains intact!

SCIENCE: we are working on flight and today we learned the parts of an airplane and 2 out of the 3 movements that a plane can do. We will put those movements to the test when we make a new paper airplane which they will modify with the different parts.
Good luck to Danica and Geneva who are on their way to the City Science Fair this Friday and Saturday.

ELA: continuing Shadows. We will be finished by next week, with a newspaper article, a comprehension test and perhaps a cumulative assignment.

FLA: We will be going between writing prompts and memorizing the poem for the Gala. The written portion of the PAT's for French is May 7th, so we want to be well prepared with ideas for stories. We have no date for the Gala as of yet, so it is on the agenda as well. All students must recite in front of the class and then one student is chosen from each grade to represent our school.

SOCIAL: I am super excited that we are right in the middle of learning about the Provinvial government while our province is in election mode. This Thursday is the debate on TV and I encourage to watch it. We received info about it see below:
Le premier débat des chefs télévisé aura lieu le jeudi soir, 4 avril. Le débat mettra en vedette Notley, Kenney, Khan et Mandel. Le débat de 90 minutes débutera à 17:30 (heure des Rocheuses), et sera télévisé à CBC, CTV et CityNews, en plus d’être disponible en ligne.
This week, students will be getting to know their candidates and their platforms in order to make an informed decision on April 16th.
Tests on Local gov't go home tomorrow to be signed and returned.
Actualite cette semaine: Qui est le ministre d'Education en Alberta?

RELIGION: we are working on the stations of the cross so that we may pray them during Holy Week. Each student is assigned one to draw and explain.
