This week in Learning:

FLA: poetry booklets are due Tuesday as are the recital of poems.

ELA: we will continue on Shadows of Disaster. I expect to get through chapters 6-8. We will discontinue looking for figures of speech and students are responsbile for writing the chapter summaries now .

MATH: we have finished this unit and the TEST is this FRIDAY April 30th. Students are responsible for asking for clarification for concepts they still have difficulties with.

SCIENCE: we will look at the cycle of water, the different shapes of leaves and photosynthesis. An experiment will be sent home this week to do for homework.

Religion: Scrapbooks are due tomorrow...this is acompilation of little assignments done over the course of a month. The large PROJECT is due Thursday, but no extra class time will be given.

ART: optical illusions will be due next week

Only 2 more months to go...keep up the great work, work harder and we will finish this year strong.

Religion unit project: no more class time will be given. (if students finish other homework in class they can use that time for catch up). It will be due Thursday April 29th

Shane's Shave

Exciting day today for Sahen who kept his campaign promise of raising money and then sahving his head...don't you wish all politicians were like that!😆

This week in Learning:

FLA: continuing and finishing our poetry unit. Booklets will be due next Tuesday, the 27th. Recitals will begin on that same day.

ELA: continuing Shadows of Disaster, reading and comprehension questions.

MATH: finishing this unit on geometry and measure. Today we looked at AREA and then it will be volume. Review every night is encouraged .

SCIENCE: continuing with unit on trees. Looking at stages of the forest, producers, consumers and decomposers.

RELIGION: this week is devoted entirely to the unit task assigned to students on GC. It will be due next Tuesday and should show evidence of what they learned in this unit on LENT and Easter.

ART: continuing with optical illusions.

Special: tomorrow we will be watching Shane get his head shaved...He has raised over 4000$ for Kids cancer and we will be live streaming from the gym.

Welcome Back!

I hope that your break and your Easter was a time of rest and reflection.

This week in Learning:

MATH: we will continue with geometry and move onto polygons.

SCIENCE: Air and aerodynamics tests go home today for signatures. We move onto Trees and Forests and how we can best treat them and care for them.

FLA: we will continue in poetry, having fun with words and putting them together.

ELA: we will begin a new novel study today. It is a historical fiction and the author lives right here in Calgary. Nightly reading and comprehension questions will be required.

Religion: Did you know that Easter is not over yet? There are a few more weeks until we return to ordinary time. Today we look at Good Friday and Easter Sunday and symbols to represent them.

ART: agrandissement is due tomorrow. Next we move to optical illusions.
