Week update:

Social Studies went home yesterday for signature, ask your child about it.

A math test will be next week, probably toward the end of the week. Begin reviewing angles, perimeter, area and volume

Students brought home a sheet to fill out with their families on the services you use from the municipal govt. this is due Friday

CTF questions need to be done for next week.

Posters in Religion on the Consecrated will be due Monday. This is an assignment from the last unit.

Library is tomorrow

Hope you all had a relaxing long weekend and are ready to get back to the books.

This week in Learning:

 MATH: we continue with area and volume. At this time students should be able to figure out the area of a parallélogramme and a triangle. This week we look at the volume of rectangular prism.

ES: we have our test on Haudenausonee and then look at the municipal government.

SCI: finishing the research on how ___ flies and making the poster.

FLA: 4 more rounds of hockey lecture

ELA: BHM and retelling of their stories for oral presentations.

Religion: we begin Lentopoly; a game that helps students do small acts of kindness during Lent. We also take a look at what Lent means in our faith.

Music: good copy of rhythm needs to be complete by next music class to present and teach to the class.


This week: 

Dry land practice today for speedskating

Speedskating Wednesday and Friday from noon-2h30. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a helmet, gloves and a water bottle.

Thursday: 

  • theme day and pizza: dress like a teacher
  • Science fair set up, viewing for parents and students in the morning

 This week in learning:

A short week so we need to try to get as much done as possible with the disruptions that are coming next week.

MATH: aire of parallelograms and volume of a prisme/cube. MATH tests of statistics and probability going home tonight for signature.

ES: last day for Haudenausonees and next class we begin municipal gov't. TEST chap 4 Monday the 20th

SCI: students will be doing research/poster on how ____ flies (bird or insect)

Religion: finishing the consecrated and Lent begins Wednesday

FLA: continue hockey lecture; imparfait for verbs

ELA: how to read, understand and retell a story, oral presentations

musique: rhythm continues


Please submit speedskating forms by tomorrow if you wish your child to go on this field trip next week.


Valentines brought tomorrow...no treats or candy, just cards.


Pancakes served by Knights of COlumbus tomorrow at lunch; bring extra food if you are a big eater

Tomorrow we have the opportunity to listen to an alumni student of St Luke and Madeleine d'Houet, Lisa Latouche. She is featured on a new Black History month poster distributed across the district.

 This week in Learning: C'est le carnaval!

Demain: la francofolie; présentation de danse et musique 

mardi: la tire sur la neige

vendredi: activités dehors

MATH: new unit on geometry (revision) and the majority of the unit will be aire and volume

ES: finishing Haudenausonee TEST 20 fev

FLA: hockey lecture continues. Quiz on poetry tomorrow

ELA: short story to be finished by the end of this week; rough draft tomorrow, editing then good copy by Thursday or Friday

SCI: we start to look at flight, today = the forces necessary to fly; how birds fly

Religion: notebook will be picked up soon. We will look at the laity and the consecrated this week. Burning of the ashes Wednesday this week, Ash Wednesday is next week.

I have been supplying loose leaf paper in the classroom for emergencies, however it seems now that it is a daily occurrence for students to help themselves. If you have packages , can you please consider sending them in. In appreciation.

CTF planet Due Monday, as is music rough copy of rhythm

Vision Board due: Feb 9th

Science experiment booklet TBD but soon (looking at last week of Feb)

Test on chapter 5 ES: Feb 20 and their project on what they know, also due soon...should be used as a study guide

FLA book report due date soon


These are all things that have been worked on extensively in class and now need to be wrapped up.
