This week in Grade 6:
Francais: continuing to work on "La montagne noire", but are taking a break from the reading so that we can write a letter as one of the characters. With respect to verbs, we are now studying "L'IMPARFAIT", part of the past tense. Students shold know the endings and memorize the most used verbs on thier sheet.
Sciences: I brought in the Star Lab, and even thought the students have been excited about it, I discovered that they did not send the proper cylinder...I am more than disappointed, but we will try to make the most of it. Thursday night of the interviews, barring nice weather, my husband has offered to bring our telescope so that students can have a look at the night sky. If yo are not scheduled for an interview, but want to come by, you are welcome to do so. Students should still be orbserving the moon phases and writing them down on their sheet.
Social Studies: Still studying the Ancient Anthenians and the roles of the women vs men vs slaves.
ELA: finishing and presenting Reader's Theater Wednesday. Also doing a research project on the greek gods so if you hear some weird relationship stuff...consider the source...gods were a little wacky! The important part is learning how to do a good research project.
Religion: Learning about covenants and starting Advent and how we can prepare for Christ's coming.
Health: quiz next Monday on how to study and how to cope with stress.
Math: working on coordinates and how to plot them on a graph. Please sign quiz and send them back in. Next unit, will be on equalities.
Our Christmas concert is around the corner. I have a John Deere cap and am hoping that everyone else is on track to get their costume/outfit together. Eve needs overalls...anyone? Practicing the LAST verse of Leroy is imperative.
LASTLY:
Although it was not on the school supply list, please send in a container of hand wipes as they are often used for clean-ups and wiping desks of their germs. If everyone sent in a container, it should help for the year. Thanks for your help with this.

 Galloping (8 times)
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen,
Over the moon so bright
Thirty-two feet and eight little tails of white,
Hurry, hurry, hurry through the night.
Ol' Saint Nick he works so quickly leavin' toys for girls and boys.
Then over the roof so high
Thirty-two feet and eight little tails they fly,
Faster, faster, faster through the sky.
Oh!  Look at 'em go,
Santa's laughin'.
Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ho.
Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen,
Over the garden wall.
Thirty-two feet and eight little tails in all.
See 'em canter, hear ol' Santa call,
"Merry, merry Christmas to you all."

Rudolph was under the weather
He had to call-in sick
So he got on the horn to his cousin, Leroy
Who lived out in the sticks
He said: "Santa's really countin' on me
And I hate to pass the buck."
Leroy said: "Hey, I'm on my way."
And he jumped in his pick-up truck
When Leroy got to the North Pole
All the reindeer snickered and laughed
They'd never seen a deer in overalls
And a John Deere tractor hat
but Santa stepped in and said: "Just calm down
'Cause we've all got a job to do
And like it or not, Leroy's in charge
And he's gonna be leadin' you."
And it was Leroy, the redneck reindeer
Hooked to the front of the sleigh
Deliverin' toys to all the good ol' boys
And girls along the way
He's just a down home, party animal
Two-stepping across the sky
He mixed jingle bells with a rebel yell
And made history that night
Before that night was over
Leroy had changed their tune
He had 'em scootin' a hoof on every single  roof
By the light of the neon moon
Santa wrapped his bag with a dixie-flag
He was havin' the time of his life
And you could hear him call
"Merry Christmas to y'all
And to all of y'all a goodnight."
And it was Leroy, the redneck reindeer
Hooked to the front of the sleigh
Deliverin' toys to all the good ol' boys
And girls along the way
He's just a down home, party animal
Two-stepping across the sky
He mixed jingle bells with a rebel yell
And made history that night
He mixed jingle bells with rebel yell
And made history that night

Joyeux Noel ‘ya all

If you have not seen/signed or returned these tests then you may not know how your child is doing in school at this time and a conversation may be required. Thanks for your help and contact me if you need more information.
