Three days to the finish line:

We will be trying to complete most assignments and units as best we can before the holidays. Here is what you child should complete before Wednesday, with time given in class to do so:

ELA: greek god poster

Religion: magazine segment

MATH: up to lesson 5 dividing decimals

FLA: comic strip

SCIENCE: moon phases calendar and how the earth and moon rotate, revolve with the sun

Desks and boxes must be cleaned and organized in the morning, as well as a cleaning of the classroom. Games in French and a craft for a gift for parents in the morning.

I hope to be able to show a movie in the afternoon. Students can bring in a bag of chips for themselves (no sharing due to viruses still being rampant) and I will provide a drink for them.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. May God's love shine on you and your families.

A HUGE thank you to the parents and students who helped, baked, worked and organized the bake sale. We raised 620.25$. Bien fait tout le monde!

There are three days left of school and students are asked to hand in everything they need to before we go on holidays.  Progress reports are due when we return.

Quiz phases de la lune mardi le 20

I had written this post yesterday and it has disappeared in cyber space somewhere! Frustrating. Oh well...here we go again!
It is good to be back, although I did have a sore throat from talking all day to find out where the students are at and where I need to go. We are a little behind but will get back on track soon, I have no doubt.

This week in Learning:
MATH: how to multiply decimals with a whole number. This will be 2 lessons and LOTS of practice.
SCIENCE: the moon observations are due this Friday as is the sheet the students started yesterday explaining rotation and revolution of the moon, earth and sun.
ES: roles of the ancient Greek people; comparaison sheet due next Monday but they have Thursday to work on it as well.
ELA: greek god poster continued. All research should be done by this time. I would like the poster done before christmas but all ELA classes dedicated to it.
FLA: we are working on homophones and there will be a quiz on the last day of school. The purpose of learning homophones is not to get 100% on the worksheets, but to apply them to our writing to improve it.
Religion: students are working on their part of an Advent magazine which we will complete before Christmas.
Musique: projects are due this week so we can begin to present. Students have had a lot of time to work on this assignment.
Other
Thursday: Spirit Day...hats, Advent Liturgy
Open House and gr 6 Bake sale
There are some spots still available to help out with the sale. This bake sale is for their farewell and help is needed. Students wrote in agendas the times but you can also check out the sign up genius here https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d44afaf2fa4f85-grade to fill the spots or contact Julia Ross-Roustan for information. julia_ross@hotmail.com
Progress Reports are due shortly after our return from holidays. Students should be very much aware of what they owe me before holidays begin.

And finally, thank you for your support during my absence. It was not the same as having Mme here but we all survived.
