MARCH 30 2020
Bonjour mes amis,

Parents: I am changing things up a bit. I will post material for the week for students to work on at their own speed. From 1-2pm I will be available online to answer questions, show how to's or to chat in French. That being said, I only have half the class participating or reaching out to me or doing any of the assignments. I realize that we are in a digital world, however Alberta Education still expects us to teach.

Cette semaine: Please see Google Classroom

  • math activité avec les angles et comment les trier
  • coming: lesson 3
  • vidéo de science, comment les avions volent
  • magazine de français, à lire surtout la partie au sujet des avions
  • Religion, the Beatitudes (see google classroom)...Lentopoly for today = light a candle and pray for your parents
  • ELA I will be reading chapter 12 soon and send answers to chapter 11. Send predictions for the ending here on Flipgrid pageturner6889
  • Mme Berko has sent something for music

March 27 2020

Bonjour et bienvenu a vendredi! Quelle longue semaine!

Today I posted the math test from before the shutdown. I look at the results, I will give you feedback, but that's all I can do at this time. It is more of a way to see if you are "getting" the material and understanding it. The social test was a learning curve for me as well...note to self, do not write the answers to short answers, because if it does not match exactly, Google forms marks it as wrong...Do know that I went back and corrected and you all have passed, so that's good. This is all NEW for us. Thank you again for your patience.

I will post Chapter 11 reading for Shadows and you can have fun with the science paper airplane activity.

Lentopoly: Pray a decade of the rosary

Thursday, March 26, 2020

March 26 2020
Lentopoly: Light a candle and say a prayer for your godparents. If you are not baptized, say one for your favorite aunt and uncle.

I posted the Social Studies quiz to  classroom. Students should do it independantly, without notes to test their own learning of the municipal government.

I also posted a Science lesson on paper airplanes and how to get them to fly left, right, roll, and go up and down. I hope it is nice enough outside today to have some fun with that.

For today's hangouts: I want students to talk to me about some of the measures that they've seen the govn't put into place, whether it is the municipal govn't, provincial or federal. I am finding that I do most of the talking, so I may change this platform and have individual conferences with the students so that they are the ones talking. TBC

Math test tomorrow.

This week in learning:
As per Alberta Education guidelines, the teachers are allowed to assign only one hour of work per day. Not all students have the support nor the technology to do any more than that and as we learned in ES, we need to keep it equitable.

I would rather have students in front of me than dealing with this new wave of life. Today, I cleaned out your desks and your things are ready to be picked up as per Mme Wozny's directions. If you have library books, bring them in. If you have textbooks or the novel, bring them in. Oh...and SOME of you are des petits cochons! Image result for dirty pig no names but good gravy! The stuff/garbage in your desks!!! Oh lala!

Anything going forward will all be virtual and online. I am close to sending things home for you to do. Some of you have not joined Google classroom yet, please do so. Khan academy is still unknown at this time, but it is a good site nevertheless. Tomorrow I will send the questionnaire for the yearbook. I am hoping that it will go ahead. Stay positive, stay safe.

I have also joined Khan academy in order to teach some math lessons. I will not post anything unless I have been given permission, but in the meantime if you go to the website, you can join with this code. SZ6ESKTC

Lentopoly: for 2 tokens, write down 10 blessinsg in your life.

Welcome to the new normal!

All I can say at this time, is to be patient in waiting for what school will look like. We have not been given direction as to how we will give instruction or material AT THIS TIME. We are still being asked to deliver curriculum, but it will take some time before we know what that looks like. Watch for emails from administration with regards to picking up your things.

In the meantime, add yourself to Google classroom using this code : w6mbs2t  It is in your google waffle.

I will keep you posted.

In times of stress...do ART.
