Happy New Year and Welcome back! Thank you to everyone who was so generous to me at Christmas. I sent a thank you note home...you may or may not get it!
I hope that everyone had a relaxing holiday and that the students are ready to get back to work as we have a lot to cover yet.

This week in Learning:

FLA: Finishing the novel study. Today we worked on the vocabulary for chapter 7. Friday January 12th  I will be picking up everything we have done; words and summaries for every chapter; letter to Robert; culminating activity; title page.

MATH: we are finishing with decimals this week and the test for the unit will be on Tuesday January 16. If your child is still having troubles multiplying and dividing decimals, they need to come and see me for one on one instruction.

Social: Continuing with Ancient Anthens.

ELA: presenting greek god/goddess research starting Wednesday. Continuing with prefixes and suffixes.

RELIGION: looking at Mary and Joseph and life in Jerusalem at that time.

MUSIC: researching a French singer/song.

ART: galaxies in acrylic paint. Please wear an old shirt on Wednesday.

We went to the Learning Commons today and all students were asked to choose a book to a report on. There is no due date  yet, but wanted to let you know that they should be reading in French every night...they always should have been but now there is an assignment attached to it.!!!!
