Students will be receiving their vaccines this Thursday. They are asked to wear short sleeve t-shirts so that the nurses can access their upper arm. Bring in music, stuffy (for the vaccine only) whatever to help you feel better, but it only lasts 15 seconds. Mind over matter works best.
This week in Learning: FLA: today we went to the Learning commons and all students were asked to take out a novel or chapter book to write a book report, according to sketchnoting. So far they have to complete the setting and the problem by the next day 5. Comics quiz to be signed and returned asap. ELA: Today we read chapters 5 and 6 in Vermeer. There is a coded message that needs to be decoded. We will also learn this week how to write a news article which is a major component of the written portion of the PAT's. I am finding that students in this class seem to think that homework is an option... English stories were due last Friday and I am still missing 2. French comic books were due Monday of this week and I am still missing 7. Today we were correcting ELA comprehension questions of the novel study and I noticed several students without answers. Please take the time to speak to your children about the importance of handing in assignments. Without them, I am not able to do progress reports and let you know where your children are in terms of their learning. I cannot assess what I do not see. For Monday: Bring in an ordinary object to explain how it is a work of art.
