This week in Learning:

FLA: we have semi-finals for Hockey lecture with les Guimauves préférés vs On n'existe pas. Then another semi-final with Les 5 amigos vs les Jambons. So far the matches have been quite even with a few shoot outs. Bon travail les amis.

ELA: we will finish the poetry unit this week. That means those doing the book choose their best 3, a title page and their quatrain recited. Those choosing the song, need to be ready to perform at the end of the week. Quiz on poetry next week Wednesday the 29th.

MATH: we continue on angles. At this time students should be able to name them, measure them and draw them. Next up, we put the protractors away and look at the angles in a triangle.

SCIENCE: we begin our unit on Air and Aerodynamics. Students should be able to see how air works, what  its properties are and how it is used for flight. We will be doing several experiments and students should keep up to date on them.

SOCIAL: we continue on the Iroquois. Students are looking at maps (types and how to read them), and then we look at the roles of the Iroquois people.

RELIGION: we are studying the way we use our gifts that have been given to us at birth and baptism. We will study the lay people, the consecrated and the clergy. Tomorrow I am picking up scrapbooks and journals. See previous post.

ART: last Friday students made Wampums.

More time will be given to finish their spirit animals later. Sketchbooks are due Jan 30.
