What we did this week and what you should have done
This week in Learning:
Math: we are going to Unit 7 on statistics and probability. Today we looked at how to word a question so there is no bias (which influences how a person responds)
FLA: we will finish with Passé composé and move onto Imparfait. Both are verb tenses for the past but how do you tell which one to use?
ELA: we will finish reading the novel this week and students will work on the post reading assignments, which include a newsarticle, an essay and a creative assignment.
SCIENCE: the experiment with the leaves and transpiration has been extended to May 25th. The leaves are coming out now, so there should be no excuses. Students are to show that they know the scientific process. We are looking at the life of trees and what affects their growth.
RELIGION: we are all children of God. Prayer on dignity should be completed by the end of this week.
On Wednesday please wear BLUE in support of Catholic Education week. We will take a Zoom pic for our yearbook.
End of week update:
Merci les élèves d’être à l'heure pour les réunions Zoom.
Don't forget attendance is in the morning and afternoons.
A few glitches to work out but so glad to be able to continue to see everyone's faces. Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday morning for Math to start the day.
ELA is the only real homework for Monday.
Some of you that handed in your Mental Health hats, might want to reconsider what you submitted. I had asked that the poster include everything that you learned on Mental Health and some of you wrote one sentence...Is that really all you learned?
This week in Learning:
Math: Tests on geometry and measure coming home for signatures. This week we will jump ahead to Unit 8 because it is easier to teach in person and I alwasy have a nagging feeling that we will end online. Hopefully not, but want to be proactive
FLA: we are doing a week and maybe more on verbs tenses. Students are ahving a difficult time with this and conjugating their verbs incorrectly.
ELA: we continue with Shadows of Disaster. I am noticing that some students are NOT keeping up with the comprehension questions for each chapter. This will cause undue stress at the end of the novel study when all is due . Every night a chapter to read and questions to answer.
Religion: we are looking at inequality and injustice.
Santé: This Wednesday is Hats on for Mental Health. Students are working on a poster about everything they have learned about mental health vs mental illness. It will be due next week. Wear a hat on Wednesday to show you are all for mental health!
SCIENCES: We continue to look at trees and this week it the life of a tree, including how branches grow and things that affect the life of a tree.
