Welcome back! I hope everyone is well rested and ready for the last push until the end of the year. There is still lots to do so we need to buckle down and be prepared to move forward.
This Week in Learning:
FLA: we are finishing our film study on Belle et Sebastien and the students will hand it in this Friday the 13th. The project includes: a Tilte page, the pre-film questions and vocab; the after film questions; and a letter that they have been working on in class.
ELA: we are back on track reading "Shadows of Disaster". By Friday, I anticipate having finished reading chapters 6-9 plus the questions. From now on, the students need to write their own chapter summaries.
MATH: Today we worked on equivalent proportions (rapports en francais). By end of this week I expect to be done this module which includes percentages, and how percentages, fractions and decimal numbers are related. I expect to have a module test by end of next week. Stay tuned for precise date.
SOCIAL: we are finishing the unit on Municipal government and again, by end of next week there will be a test on this unit. I promise it will not be on the same day as Math. Coming up next is the Provincial government.
ART: we began a project today using math. Students chose a small magazine picture and in the process of using proportions to draw the image larger. This will take a few classes to complete.
MUSIC: we will be working on our Li Sync presentation as a class. I will send home the song we choose (once we do so) through a link so that students can practice.
RELIGION: taking a closer look at the Easter "Season" and what it all entails.
