We are still learning and students have a test Monday and Tuesday so that the progress reports can be completed before the break.
Today we discussed the last day of school. Students will be responsible for cleaning their desks & the classroom before any fun takes place. Any student who does not hand in assignments due will not participate in the festivities. This has been made abundantly clear to all. Students can bring their own salty and sweet snacks (no sharing due to Covid and germs) for a movie chosen by the majority. (Bring your ideas Monday).
We will also have games in French and English.

MATH: finishing with percentages and putting them all together. See module 5 of the text for lessons. Test will be after the break
SCI: finishing our research on planets, eclipses and time lines this week. Test is Dec 19. Moon phase calendar due dec 15th.
ES: finishing Greek democracy. Test is December 18th. Study guide pamphlet will be picked up before holidays
FLA: finishing bande dessinée, due Dec 14th
ELA: finishing Greek god poster. 2 more classes; presenting Friday, finished or not. Know your stuff

ELA: finishing and presentation greek god posters
FLA: finishing bande dessinée. Quiz on the vocab and the elements of a story this Wedn. Notes On Google classroom
SCI: phases of the moon, we began today. Quiz on that Dec 11th. We are also measuring the shadows of the sun throughout the day to see the changes.
ES: tomorrow we finish the unit, when we look at Socrates and Pericles. The students will have the rest of the time to work on their pamphlets/study guides. Test before the holidays.
Religion: we blessed the Advent wreath with Holy water today and lit the first candle. Students are being asked to work on the living advent calendar; an act of kindness and then they will color a bauble on their tree.
ART: today we worked on tesselations to make a tree in the hallway in anticipation of our Open House. Students also worked on a gingerbread house tesselation in their sketchbooks. Next up: a Greek vase
CTF: the Food trucks will be presented on Wednesday Day 2. Be ready to show your learning process.
Students had their first dance today. The performance will be Friday @ 2-3 come and join us.
UPDATE:
I'm noticing that some students have already miss-placed or used up some of their school supplies. Please check with your child to see if that is the case. Expo markers are always a given; scissors go missing as do rulers. Thank you for your support.
Today students were shown the website "le bon patron" which they can use as a tool to help them write better in French, especially for projects that they do online. It is free and can offer suggestions to be better writers.
Next week: quiz on Bandes Dessinées vocabulary and the elements of a story. Wedn Dec 6th
Dance (CUBA) residency all week except Thursday. Wear comfortable clothing. The final performance will be on Friday near 2pm, check the school website.
