And just like that Room 108 is all packed up and ready to move to the "Villa".
A final goodbye and farewell to the amazing students who came through these doors and enriched my life. May our paths be lucky to cross again. Au revoir.

Last week of learning:

ALL items need to be brought home by Wednesday.

Thank you to everyone who came for our Farewell celebration. I apologize again for the technology malfunction. I do try my best!

Today we will be signing yearbooks and t-shirts. Students will also be incharge of getting equipment ready for Activity day tomorrow. Please send sunscreen, hats, lots of water and a change of clothes. Student council had asked for a water fight on the last day of school, but it is going to rain Thursday. I will double check, but I am aiming for this tomorrow at the end of Activity day. NO SUPER SOAKERS! Just regular water guns. See an email at day's end for further clarification and confirmation.

Thursday I anticipate a movie and snacks. We did not have our traditional ceremony with our reading buddies and the grade 6ers at the church, so we may have it in the morning in the gym. Also the grade oners usual have a picnic with ice cream for us. Hoping to do that Thursday as well... just indoors.

This week in Learning:

This will be a week to finish the important material still left to cover before the PAT's. We will also be doing practice tests on Exam bank. The school has purchased log-ins for the students to use AT SCHOOL. You may purchase additional log-ins for practice at home, but if students use their time wisely in class, there should be no need to buy additional log-ins.

FLA: finishing Hockey Lecture. One more round tomorrow and then the finals, Wednesday before the PAT THURSDAY am.

Math: Transformations, which means taking a geometric figure and moving it to make a motif. There are easy ones: slide and reflection. Most of our time will be spent on rotation. Students wanting to do extra to study...cumulative review pp 328-331.

Religion Quiz tomorrow on the Easter Season, Scrapbooks due Thursday.

ART: sketchbooks due Wednesday.

SCIENCE PAT this FRIDAY am.

I would like to request that your children have a good night's sleep and that they eat a healthy breakfast before the PAT's. I have heard around the classroom that they grade 6 PAT's don't count. In fact they are a very good indicator of how a student will perform in Grades 9 and 12. I don't believe in stressing the kids out, but I do believe in good studying habits and being proud of their accomplishments when they work hard.

Please send an extra bag for items that can go home before the end of the year.

This week in Learning:
FLA: continuing Hockey lecture

Social Studies: Test this Friday on chapters 7, 8 and federal government

Math: Gathering information, how to graph it, which graph to choose and probability.

Science:  Gather leaves so that we can classify them. the life of trees and how to diagnose transversal cuts.

Religion: Finishing Kids in the Know

We have no more Kleenex in the classroom. If you have abox that you can send, please do so. Especially those with runny noses!

Kandy needs to do retakes for the following people for grade 6 yearbook because they were blurry or too much shadow was present:  Camille, Deirdre, Eva, Mackenzie, Sophie, Ryan, Adam and Robert.

PAT's are fast approaching and students should be starting to study already, especially material that they had problems with.
